This application is designed for healthcare professionals and provides recommendations to aid in determining the safe use of contraceptive methods in women with various characteristics, habits, and medical conditions.

Healthcare providers can input patient-specific conditions, and the application will automatically assign a category for each contraceptive method. Categories 1 and 2 generally allow the use of a method with some considerations, while categories 3 and 4 advise against or prohibit its use based on medical criteria. For further details, users are encouraged to refer to the application or its documentation.

It is important to note that the recommendations are focused on the contraceptive use of these methods and do not address their potential medical treatment applications, as eligibility criteria may vary in such cases.

All recommendations and information within this application are derived from the World Health Organization's document "Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, Fourth edition 2009." Updates to the content have been made in alignment with the conferences of the Spanish Society for Contraception and the CDC's publication "U.S. Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, 2010."
